PRINCIPAL MESSAGE

As the principal, I am extremely proud to work with a school staff that is so highly committed to providing students in grades 5 - 8 with the best education possible in a safe and caring environment.  As an administrative team, Mr. Whitehead and myself are especially proud of the work our staff has done towards continually improving student literacy and engagement.   My own personal philosophy is that relationships are at the heart of any successful organization and this creates an atmosphere of success for every child.  As professional educators, our staff are very collaborative and we plan together in order to give our students access to the very highest quality of instruction in core subjects, the fine arts, physical education and character education.  Along with this commitment, we constantly strive to make adjustments in order to continue our professional development as a community of learners.

We would like to encourage parents to become involved in school committees and activities whenever possible because we are at our best when we work together to further your child’s learning.  As when this school was opened in 1987, our goal remains to build and strengthen our relationships with the community. This goal is shared by our CESD School Trustee, Mr. Gord Kerr.  Whenever possible, we like to involve our students in community activities and we are thankful for the support that we receive from so many individuals and groups.   In the evenings, we invite Didsbury seniors to take advantage of our building for hall walking.

Our students are at a time in their lives which is both challenging and rewarding and we also recognize the importance of participating in extra-curricular activities, teams, spirit days and having fun with each other.  We will work to support and challenge your children to try new things and to stretch themselves in new ways as they grow as learners and as citizens.
